NEW XF EXTERIOR STYLING

Streamlined front wings with revised air vents and a resculpted bonnet create more dynamic contours for the new XF. The effect is heightened by the remodelled front grille and the exciting new front bumper designs.

INTELLIGENT FRONT LIGHTING

Slimmer headlamp units provide a more assertive look for the new XF. The Bi-function HID Xenon headlamps are available with Adaptive technology, allowing the beam to bend in the direction of the steering.Drivers have the further option of intelligent high beam, which will automatically turn the full beam on and off as necessary.All models of the new XF are fitted with headlamp washers as standard.

SIGNATURE BLADE

The new XF's headlamp units incorporate Daytime Running Lights arranged in 'J Blade' formation - now a visual signature of the Jaguar brand.

REAR LIGHTS

LED light guide technology has been incorporated into the rear light clusters on the new XF, creating a unique night-time signature for the new XF. LEDs are now used for the stop and tail lights as well as the indicators, and the light cluster has been strikingly reshaped so that it extends onto the boot lid.

CLEARER, MORE FLEXIBLE DOOR MIRRORS

The new XF's electric door mirrors are heated to improve visibility in cold weather. The Powerfold versions, available throughout the XF range, will fold back to help with parking or driving through narrow spaces – they also feature auto-dimming to reduce glare at night.

RAIN-SENSING WINDSCREEN WIPERS

The new XF has sensors that detect rain on the windscreen and switch the wipers on at the appropriate speed.

R EXTERIOR THEME

The sporting image of the XFR is enhanced with a range of design features reflecting the car’s high performance credentials – the front grilles are finished in black mesh, an exclusive bumper design houses twin air intakes, and twin louvres on the bonnet feature a 'SUPERCHARGED' motif. The theme continues with side sill extensions, rear valance, aerodynamic boot spoiler, quad exhaust pipes and R badges on the front grille, seats, steering wheel and boot lid.

DIESEL S EXTERIOR

XF Diesel S models feature a distinctive gloss black mesh front grille with chrome surround, and the distinctive S badge has been added to the boot lid.

AERODYNAMIC PACK

The new XF's dynamic lines can be accentuated with the optional Aerodynamic Pack. The unique front bumper design features black mesh inserts for the lower air intakes. Along the side sills there are sculpted appliqués, while the boot lid features a distinctive spoiler. In addition, the pack is now compatible with Adaptive Cruise Control.

HALO ILLUMINATION

Phosphor blue halo illumination picks out the switches, JaguarDrive Selector™, start button, electric parking brake and instrument panel, as well as the centre and upper consoles. Depending on the model chosen, the doors may also feature phosphor blue illumination.

VERSATILE STEERING WHEEL

The XF’s leather steering wheel incorporates switches for the cruise control and JaguarVoice™, if it is fitted. It can also be used to control the audio output – changing between CD tracks, radio stations or selections on an MP3 player.

SEATING OPTIONS

The new XF range features a wider range of seat designs and colours, creating additional opportunities for personalisation within the cabin. Improved seat styles provide increased support during even the most vigorous manoeuvres.

INTUITIVE INSTRUMENT DISPLAY

The instrument panel on the new XF has been reconfigured and now includes a full-colour 7 inch display.

MAINTAINING THE IDEAL TEMPERATURE

The XF’s climate control system has automatic particle and odour filtration, humidity control and window demisting. The dual-zone feature allows driver and front passenger to set different temperatures. Heated front seats are available with the XF Luxury and Premium Luxury and XF S, while the XF Portfolio and XFR have ventilated front seats with both heating and cooling options.

AMPLE STORAGE

In addition to a large glovebox, the XF has storage pockets in each door and on the backs of the front seats. Because the JaguarDrive Selector™ takes up less room than a conventional gear stick, there is space for CD storage, two auxiliary power sockets, the front media interface and two cupholders. Another two cupholders can be found in the centre armrest for the rear seats.

SPACIOUS BOOT

The new XF’s boot has a capacity of at least 500 litres, rising to a maximum of 540 litres, depending on which spare tyre option is chosen. If folding rear seats are specified, a further 420 litres of space is available.

R INTERIOR THEME

The XFR’s interior has been designed to complement its sporting performance. There are exclusive options for the veneers and internal colourways, and the 18/14 way Softgrain leather front sports seats feature electric side bolsters for greater comfort while cornering. There are R badges on the instrument panel, steering wheel and front headrests, while the instrument dials feature red pointers and a ‘SUPERCHARGED’ motif.

SPORTS INTERIOR PACK

The Sports Interior Pack features 18-way (driver) and 14-way (passenger) front sports seats originally developed for the supercharged XFR. Power-adjustable raised side bolsters are designed to keep driver and passenger firmly in place when cornering, and ensure exceptional lateral support. To further heighten the sporting look of the cabin, the XF Sports Interior Pack includes high-gloss Piano Black veneer – a feature that is only available with this option.

JAGUAR SEQUENTIAL SHIFT™

The new XF offers a choice between six-speed and eight-speed automatic transmissions. Both options give smoother gear changes, constantly adapted to suit the style of driving. In addition, drivers seeking greater involvement have the option of changing gears manually, with paddles behind the steering wheel.

JAGUARDRIVE SELECTOR™ AND JAGUARDRIVE CONTROL™

The automatic transmission is controlled by the beautifully designed JaguarDrive Selector™, which rises into the driver's hand once the 'Start' button is pressed. The driver simply turns the selector to engage transmission settings, or to move from Drive to Sport mode. JaguarDrive Control™ offers further driving modes. Dynamic mode where fitted offers more responsive acceleration, while Winter mode gives more progressive control in slippery conditions.

DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL

The Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) has two settings. The default setting comes into play as soon as it detects the wheels slipping. The Trac DSC setting, on the other hand, allows some slipping and overspin before it intervenes – this allows for a sportier drive and is also essential with snow chains.

ADAPTIVE DYNAMICS

Jaguar's Adaptive Dynamics system – previously only available on the high performance XK, XKR and XFR sports models – is designed to sharpen and hone the already impressive handling agility of the XF. Adaptive Dynamics deliver a superb balance between a comfortable, luxury car ride and hard-edged sports car handling. The system analyses body movement and driver and road-wheel inputs up to 500 times every second. Suspension settings are continuously adjusted to maintain a flat and level body, and improve handling without loss of ride comfort.Available on the XF 3Litre Diesel S, XF 3l Diesel and XF 2.2l Diesel

ACTIVE DIFFERENTIAL

The electronic Active Differential on the new XFR is designed to detect any slipping and vary the power supplied to each wheel to help keep the car as stable as possible.

SERVOTRONIC STEERING

The XF's variable-ratio power-assisted Servotronic steering makes it easier to park and manoeuvre and gives more precision at higher speeds.

CRUISE CONTROL WITH AUTOMATIC SPEED LIMITER

Working in tandem with cruise control, an Automatic Speed Limiter allows the driver to select a maximum speed that should not be exceeded.

ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL

When Adaptive Cruise Control is fitted, a microwave radar in the front bumper is designed to sense if the vehicle in front slows down, and then use the throttle and brake to maintain a constant time gap. Once the road clears it will take the car back up to the previous speed. The radar also operates a Forward Alert, which gives the driver an audible warning if the traffic ahead slows quickly or another vehicle moves into the same lane. Adaptive Cruise Control is now compatible with the optional Aerodynamic Pack.

ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE

The XF's braking system works with the JaguarDrive Selector™ to release the parking brake as the car drives away. The driver can also choose to operate the parking brake manually.

INTELLIGENT STOP/START TECHNOLOGY

New XFs powered by the innovative 2.2Litre AJ-i4D engine will feature Intelligent Stop/Start technology. The intelligence of the system lies in its ability to detect when the engine is not needed. The engine will restart as soon as the driver releases the brake pedal and will be operating at 'idle' before their foot reaches the accelerator. As well as reducing CO2 emissions, the system can deliver savings of 5–7% in fuel efficiency, depending on conditions.

PROTECTIVE BODYSHELL

The XF's reinforced bodyshell incorporates new-generation high-strength steels to create a vertical safety ring around the cabin.

AIRBAGS AND SAFE SEATING

The XF has two-stage airbags for the driver and front passenger, as well as side and curtain airbags - all controlled by a sensing system that ensures they will only deploy if the seats are occupied. In addition, the seatbelts feature 'soft landing' technology to soften the contact with the airbag, and an anti-whiplash system is designed to move the head restraints forward if there is an accident.

BLIND SPOT MONITOR

The new XF's optional Blind Spot Monitor uses radar to take much of the uncertainty out of changing lanes. An amber warning icon appears in the external mirror when the system detects vehicles that can't be seen either directly or in one of the mirrors.

PEDESTRIAN CONTACT SENSING SYSTEM™

The Pedestrian Contact Sensing System™ and automatically deployable bonnet can also help protect those outside the car. The system is designed to raise the bonnet slightly if it detects contact with a pedestrian in order to help prevent their head from contacting hard points under the bonnet.

AIDS TO SAFER DRIVING

The new XF features a number of safety systems designed to improve road-holding and stability:

• Emergency brake assist
• Electronic brake-force distribution
• Anti-lock brakes
• Traction control (through engine and brake intervention)
• Dynamic Stability Control
• Cornering brake control
• Engine drag torque control

When Adaptive Cruise Control is specified, the new XF also features Intelligent Emergency Braking and active seat belts that detect how firmly they need to be applied during emergency braking.The new XF also has understeeer control logic, which is designed to help slow the car and restore grip to the front wheels if the driver understeers.

SAFER, MORE PRECISE PARKING

Ultrasonic sensors in the new XF's rear bumper are designed to detect objects up to 1.8m away and provide the driver with an audible warning. At the same time, graphics on the colour screen represent where the object is in relation to the car. The new XF also offers the option of combining a front parking aid - designed to alert the driver to objects ahead of the car - and a rear camera parking aid, which displays video from a rear-facing digital camera on the Touch-screen

TYRE PRESSURE MONITORING

With this option fitted, the XF driver can receive an alert message if the pressure in any of the tyres goes down.

SECURITY

Door locks on the XF are controlled remotely from the key fob, and each door can also be locked or double-locked with a button on the handle. In addition, the doors will lock automatically when the car reaches a pre-set speed, which can be chosen by the driver. The XF is also protected by an alarm and engine immobiliser.
